This polymer belongs to the group of elastomers. Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene is a material made from a long and hard chain of acrylonitrile and styrene polymers with polybutadiene hardness. Its most important feature is its hardness and resistance to acids and alkenes. It is obtained from the polymerase of styrene and acrylonitrile in the presence of polybutadiene. The main reason for the use of this type of polymer is its almost unique combined properties. That is, it is both hard and tough. It also has the property of combining with PVC to form an alloy with greater impact resistance.
Uses: Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) is used in the manufacture of interior parts for home appliances – cars and electronic components.
